Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a complex metabolic and endocrine condition that causes hormonal imbalances in women and girls of reproductive age. PCOS affects 5-10% of women of reproductive age. Hormonal imbalances prevent the ovaries from ovulating and releasing an egg to meet the sperm, often resulting in fertility challenges.

Some common symptoms of PCOS are:

• Fertility challenges due to anovulation
• Infrequent, absent and/or irregular menstrual periods
• Hirsutism - increased hair growth on the face, chest, stomach, back, thumbs, or toes
• Cysts on the ovaries
